Greetings Fred. I just stumbled upon your site and love it. I have linked to you on my blogroll and would love it if you'd link to me. Scroll down on my home page to see a recent entry about Floyd. I lived there for a year in '03-'04. No place like it! I still have some dear friends there.

Fred, I noticed your website on a postcard I get and the photo intrigued me to go to your site. I like your stuff. Come up to Grayson County sometime and enjoy our beauty as well. Thanks, Chris

I am enjoying reading "Slow Road Home."
We returned to Virginia after living 12 years in Fayetteville, NC. (All Sand and No Mountains)
We now live at Smith Mountain Lake, but still love our
home county of Floyd.

Hi Fred: Thank you for stopping in at the Floyd Professional Center today. It was a pleasure to show you around and tell you about our Floyd Help Desk and other activities.

I was specially glad to correct the rumor of our tower being only 17 feet tall and not 200 feet.. This will be a good thing for Floyd and will help bring in the tourist to see what we are all about.

Would you mind putting our web site link on your blog? I would reall appreciate you doing this. By the way you know that you have a nice listing on the our site.

Thank you for your interest and any good words on your blog about the Floyd Help Desk will be appreciated.

Warmest Regards, Dave Larsen LCF Group

[...] ❊ My thanks to the Floyd Women’s Club for inviting me to present my “Visual Essay” last night for the first time since Earth Day 2008. It was well received, making me think I need to do more like that, and quite a few of the ladies did what YOU should do: purchase What We Hold In Our Hands: a Slow Road Reader for Father’s Day–yours, your spouse’s, and three more (your son who is now a father, an uncle who has been like a father to you and the childless neighbor gentlemen who would have been getting this book from his kids if he’d ever had any.) I’ll look for your order form forthwith! [...]

I look forward to knowing that its message will reach some of you–both physically with the book in your hands and with regard to the mild bump in “ordinary happiness” it might nurture in a readers’ lives.
