Sorry your honey isn't able to spend the day with you Fred. Glad I read your post today - you reminded me that I have gaiters and they were not out in the garage with the other camping gear they were with my Sorel snow boots in a box in the closet. My snow shovel was right outside the door - the side door where the drifted snow made it impossible to open the storm door so I had to use the front door. Found that the gate latch to the side porch was frozen solid and slogged thru thigh high drifts in little garden patch to reach the show shovel. On to the garage to get feed for the horses and goat and then a long slow trek, shoveling as I went, to get down to the barn. The horses watched me and voiced their displeasure at my slow pace. I was envious of how easily those long legged critters ran through even the deepest drifts out in the pasture as they headed in to eat.

By the time I headed back up to the house my earlier footprints had been almost completely filled in by the wind blown snow. The shovel is now on the covered front porch with the firewood.

Give Tsuga an extra treat for me.

YEP, SNOWED HERE IN GREENSBORO ALSO. BEAUTIFUL WHITE STUFF, THE TREES ARE BEAUTIFUL, ESPECIALLY AS THE SUN HITS THEM.

NO POWER, BUT WE HAVE GAS LOGS, AND GAS WATER HEATER. BURN A FEW CANDLES FOR LIGHT, AND WE HAD IT MADE.

HAD NOT CLEANED THAT MUCH SNOW OFF MY CAR IN QUITE SOME TIME. BROUGHT THE WIFE INTO WORK ALSO.

KID IS VERY EXCITED SCHOOL IS CLOSED...

TAKE CARE

You are lucky, though! Here in Chattanooga, it went all around us!! We wanted some snow!

Take pictures and post them so that I can see what the snow looks like! Stay warm and dry.

Here in northcentral Pennsylvania, we're supposed to miss this storm but as I look out, the snow is swirling, the wind is howling and I can't see the hill behind the house. Stay warm!
