I wish we’d get an umbrella alert down here!

My boyfriend once drove from one end of Atlanta to the other with a tiny package of floss on the top of his car–it’s amazing that it stayed there! I’m glad the boots planted themselves to yours.

And I bet you can make some really tasty things with the butternuts.

Ditto on the hunters. I know that there are bound to be bad apples in every sort of bunch, but the past several years I have been disturbed by the amount of trash (especially beer and malt liquor cans) left behind by hunters. Perhaps it just makes me uncomfortable knowing that there are a bunch of people guzzling large quantities of alcoholic beverages while running around the woods with firearms.

My grandpas put great stock in those woolyworms. I’m just not sure how reliable the Missouri ones are.

Oh, you can’t trust those woolyworms. They lie. Now I’ve hit on a way to use their prognostication abilities reliably: look outside at a woolyworm-if it’s wet, it’s raining; if it’s white, it’s snowing; if it’s gone, it’s windy!
