Webs of Deception

Visible web, the spider's loss, the photographer's gain

Visible web, the spider's loss, the photographer's gain

Orb-weaver’s webs are entirely too orderly to be deceiving. When the frost covers them with beads of ice and sun hits them just so, they are not even invisible.

Even so, spiders continue to play the odds that a meal will pass through their airspace and hang around for dinner, and often enough, they don’t starve.

That’s a beautiful shot. I love the teardrop shape of the web.

Hey there Fred! Just checked out your NaNoWriMo page and read the little bit you have there. It looks to be a good begining. I like how you “show and not just tell” with your words, how you are revealing the back story a little at a time and not using a huge info dump to explain everything. Looks great. Miss you around here… let me know if you need anyone to go shooting with and tell Ann I said hello.
