Blooming Beauty
This time last year, it was pasture grasses and flowers that dominated the photo-folders. I was thinking then about the possibility of creating four seasonal sets of gift cards. I'm thinking about it again, to sell in the same places as the book, and online too.
Speaking of books (can you imagine!)...I acted on a wild hair yesterday on the way back from Blacksburg (where the book is now at Easy Chair Book Store) and pulled in at Cracker Barrel. Their gift shops are always crawling with travelers waiting their turn at the turnip greens, and heck, it was worth a quick stop. Granted, at present, at least the Christiansburg facility didn't have books other than cook books, but I'm going back to talk with the manager. What would be great in a perfect world would be that he would say yes to that location and help me get it in Cracker Barrels up and down the I-81 corridor through Virginia.
Yeah, I know. If wishes were horses...

But keep wishing! (And acting.)

I don't see why they wouldn't. That's similar to the type of stuff they carry anyway....sort of homespun....LOL

Hooray for you. You're moving on and such an inspiration to others. Sometimes it takes a knock down to get back up with the dukes up. Only positive thoughts now. Great photo.

I was trying to remember all the places that we have bought books on our trips up along the Parkway. I have bought lots of local authored books at the big Craft Center just north of Asheville, and at the Mineral Museum in Spruce Pine, N.C. Also at the Blowing Rock Gift Shop and Chamber of Commerce in Boone, N.C., which is large and always full of tourists, looking for a piece of the Blue Ridge to take home with them. There is lots of activity and folks that pass through the Todd General Store, where there are weekly music nites. Since we come from the low lands or flat lands of the deep South, we always bring home a bag of books to remember where we've been and what beauty we've seen. Surely your book would fill that bill.....
