Seasoned Greedings

So far, I haven't found a lot of usefulness for Harry's Photo Filters, but the price was right. This swirling harlequinesque rendering of one of my favorite winter shots from the archives uses the pattern filter. Interesting, but not necessarily artistically pleasing--more of a greeting card kind of razzle. Or is it dazzle? I can never keep those two straight. Anyhow, happy holidays. Can you hear the giant sucking sound that is the vortex of consumerism pulling us inexoribly toward Giftmas? Exorible for some. How 'bout you?

Fred, that looks like you've put a quilt into your image. Very cool!

Yep, I thot this was the main visual hook: the quilt and the old barn. I sort of liked it, and was sort of repulsed by it. I'll hunt around and see if there are other image-pattern combinations that work as well or better. The snow scenes give good empty space for the patterns to show up.

I certainly appreciate the holiday greeting, Fred, but am puzzled by the camera techno result.
Surely that quilt is a beauty. Picture twist makes it look like it's getting pulled apart; thread, by thread. Think I'll take my quilts straight, neat, so's you can enjoy the intricate pattern. Certainly the gift vortex is a budget busting threat to us all, isn't it? Where did the belief start that the more we spend, the more we pile under the tree that someone will be made instantly happier or more appreciative of our efforts?
At some point years ago, our little family stopped trying to compete or maybe even keep up with the 'shop till you drop' practice...Hence Christmas has become what it was supposed to be all along..a celebration of Christ. Indeed, Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Actually, Fred, it's "the old razzle-dazzle", as in a feat of leger-demain.
