Beauties of Spring

image copyright Fred First

Spring Beauties (Claytonia) carpet the shady streambanks of Goose Creek. Also called Fairy Spuds because of the sweet, potato-like tuber at its base.

Very nice. These little flowers are so tiny it's hard to capture their spirit with a photograph as you have done here. Is this the first official D70 photo post or shall we continue to hold our breaths in anticipation?

Beautiful Fred:

Our spring is slow, greenery is only beginning to push through and trees buds are only beginning to swell.
It's so nice to come here and look forward to what will grow over the next month. Thanks for taking time to take such terrific pictures. Blog on!
