"I could inform the dullest author how he might write an interesting book–-let him [or her] relate the events of his [or her] own Life with honesty, not disguising the feelings that accompanied them." Samuel Taylor Cooleridge (From, "A Writer's Almanac" 10/21/03, quoted by Garrison Keillor)

Well I'm outta the loop. Who are these people that are nominated for Weblog Awards? I never heard of most of them (except R Blood for Lifetime Achievement... waydago, Rebecca!)

BigWig is presenting at the "Weblog in Journalism" conference that starts on Jan 26.

well, I was disappointed that I didn't find any of my personal favorites on the list, but maybe I'll find some new blogs to add to my growing list of favorites ... thanks for the link

as to your comment "I could inform the dullest author how he might write an interesting book–-let him [or her] relate the events of his [or her] own Life with honesty, not disguising the feelings that accompanied them."

Well, that's a tall order to fill. Simple? Perhaps not so simple, afterall. Maybe it hit me squarely between the eyes because I've been very quiet about something this past week. Perhaps the whole blogging community is directly fueled by how much we are willing to share.

I'll have to think on this one some more. I'll have to determine how brave I really am, then how honest I think I can be. But I'll think on it.

ST Coleridge got it right (as always). People crave reality. If you write anything with honesty, readers will resonate with that.

Fred, we both might be out of the Bloggie loop (I've never heard of most of these folks, either). But we're definitely in SOME sort of loop (or just plain loopy). Either way, Coleridge never won a Bloggie, either. And I think we should just keep on keeping it real... ;-)

I have seen many of these on bloglists and sampled them from time to time. All that I have visited are good, but there are many more that are just as good if not better, but less well-known, in most of the categories.

With blogs as with books, movies, music and countless other categories, my personal favorites are rarely the best-sellers.
