The Fragments Dictionary

Terms that have caught my eye this week...

  • Forgive me, I forget which blogger described (her?)self as having cabin fever this week, a condition s(he) called shack wacky. Yeah. I'm that.
  • I am doing research on cultural tourism for my class I'm taking. Somewhere I found a database listing income produced by various segments of the population of some oriental country. Included was the monetary contribution to the local economy by "sex workers". What a wonderful politically correct euphemism! But, to be fair, I propose that, in the same spirit of softening what could be seen as judgemental epithets, we should commence to calling burglars, extortionists and the like by the term crime workers.
  • And finally, again 'somewhere' I read a sarcastic review of our Prezdunt's proposed tax cut that will provide needed financial relief to the rich, that population which was referred to by this author as the uptrodden.

Cultural tourism rocks...have you come across anything about Economusées, or Econo-Museums, in Quebec/Acadian maritimes?

The uptrodden? Haven't heard that one. Wish you had the link (or maybe not) to the sarcastic review of the tax cut. I'm for any tax cut on anything anywhere! No more taxes.

And that's about the only opinion I have this minute *smile* *wink*

Well slap me silly...I must be pretty stupid to be working 70+ hrs a week to oppress the poor by paying more than 40% of my gross income (not including FICA & SDI) in taxes.

What was I thinking? I'll resign immediately and let get on the dole, Medi-Cal and section 8 housing. I certainly don't want to be part of the problem.
