Expecting Company

A big THANK YOU to Michele over at A Small Victory for posting Fragments as her Site of the Day and had a few kind words to say, to boot!

Please, new visitors, make yourself at home. Leave your boots on the back porch if you don't mind, before you come in. If I'm not here, there's coffee in the pot. The dog may bark, but he definitely won't bite. Throw another stick or two in the stove if its chilly. I won't be gone long. Hang around. Take a look at the pictures from the last couple of days during the snow. Got one you can carry home with you, if you're a mind to.

I'm glad I came across Michele's pointer to your blog. It's a breath of fresh air. From reading some of your posts I see that in some ways there are many things that are much alike between Floyd County, Virginia and Grafton County, New Hampshire.

Presently I live on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, but I have a plot of land in the little town of Alexandria where I'll soon be building my home. Much of what you've written reminds me very much of many of the things I've seen up in my neck of the woods, except we have more snow, it gets a lot colder up here, and we have funny accents which make storytelling much more interesting ("Ya' can't get theah from heah"....we don't use the letter 'R' very much up this way)

I look forward to visiting your blog on a regular basis.

Keep up the good work!
