Performing, Mac and Jenny Traynham (Southern Mountain Melodies) on what was almost the date of the issue of their new CD (coming early next week!) In attendance, ambassadors from the New Roanoke Jug Band, Beggars Circus and the Hoorah Cloggers, as well as a cast of music listeners.
If you’d care to (and even though it does not do justice to the evening’s music, here’s a short clip of a number that recruited Jay on the washboard and Shay on the fiddle. (Towards the end, you can hear Tsuga barking forlornly, wanting to join the fun.)

so the ANNex is coming in handy after all?
sounds like a wonderful evening….one of the best ways to spend an evening in my opinion….hanging out with friends and listening to good music.
you know, i thought of floyd last night because we had quite the line-up in our little town for a tuesday night. i went to the dairy queen at 6 to listen to some old-time music….then meandered up the street to hear a latin jazz band later in the evening. not bad for small town appalachia…… and it reminds me of the posts i’ve read about floyd.

I sure was hoping you’d have at least a clip or two of the night. Sounded good (even Tsuga). Did anybody record the whole thing?
That sure does bring me back — so glad Mac and Jenny are doin’ their thing. Hope we can make the next one.
